Hi! I love your blog and I was wondering, do you file your nails so that they are flat instead of rounded at the tips?
Thanks! And yes, I file my nails like that on purpose for two reasons. First, it’s really easy to just file your nails into a straight line, lol. (I’m not sure I have the patience to file my nails in a rounded shape!) And second, I’ve been trying to keep my nails a little shorter, and I think square nails look great short. Of course…sometimes I get busy with life and my nails turn into claws before I have a chance to file them back down again!
You're back! (Like Voldemort, only I'm much happier about it!) You /are/ back...right?
Haha! Yes, I’m back!
For anyone who actually missed me, I apologize for the extended hiatus. I’ve still been swatching, though, so you’ll see some older reviews popping up. Because sometimes, life takes priority over your nail blog, but not so much so that you can’t sport fabulous nails while you tackle life!
Hey! I love your blog! I have a question for you. I have a really big problem with my nails peeling. When they start to grow out at all, they layers just start separating and eventually peeling. Because of this, I have to keep my nails pretty short, and I'd really like to be able to grow them out! Do you have any tips that can help me with this problem?
Someone else recently asked about the peeling nails issue, and I answered here. Start reading where it says “lastly.” :)
wow, I have only just come across your blog and I'm blown away! Your art is amazing and your blog it so neatly organised too!! I am in love with your starry night nails - iv seen it done by a few other people (including myself) and yours is by far the best!! looking forward to seeing more great stuff :-)
do you know of any base coats and top coats that will work well with any nail polish? i usually use essie's protein base coat, essie polish, and seche vite top coat..but it doesn't usually last very long ): i was considering CND stickey base coat and their air dry top coat, but i want some advice before buying! i'd appreciate it very much if you could help me out (:
Several people consider CND Stickey base coat the best base coat for prolonging a manicure, but I’ve heard people complain it’s difficult to remove. I haven’t tried it yet myself, though.
Currently, I use Butter London’s Horse Power Nail Fertilizer as base coat and Seche Vite as top coat. The combination works quite well for me. My 4th of July manicure lasted about a week and a half (with minor tip wear) before I got any chips!
You also want to make sure your nails are free of any oils, so use a cotton ball soaked in nail polish remover to swipe each of your nails before you start painting them. Also, buffing your nails before you start painting them is also supposed to help prolong a manicure.
hi there! I was wondering if you use anything to strengthen your nails or increase the growth of them? if so, what would you recommend?
Currently, I’m using Butter London’s Horse Power Nail Fertilizer, and it’s worked wonders for me! It’s supposed to help your nails grow faster, but I find it has strengthened my nails as well. Not a single chipped nail in two months now!
