Color: Brownstone (China Glaze)Retail Price: $6.50 (USD)
This shade is from China Glaze’s Metro collection. It is a brown creme with strong red tones running throughout. It reminds me of the color of clay, and I sort of wish I’d swatched it before Thanksgiving because I think this is such a great fall shade for the occasion!
The formula was a little thicker than I’d like for a creme, but it was pleasantly opaque. I only needed two coats to achieve bottle color, but one coat was nearly opaque.
Overall, I really like this shade! It’s unique to many I own. It’s not quite brown, and it’s not quite red; it sits comfortably between the two. You might even argue it has hints of burnt orange, but I think the difficulty in clearly defining the color makes it complex and unique.
