Color: Ultamate HolidayRetail Price: $7.00 (USD)
For winter 2011, China Glaze has produced three Ulta-exclusive shades: Fireside Glow, Mistletoe Me, and Ultamate Holiday. I’ll be reviewing Ultamate Holiday today.
This shade is made of gold glitter and holographic glitter, all suspended in a clear base. Photos do NOT do this justice! It twinkles like crazy, especially in the sun. The holographic glitter catches light from all angles, and sparkles in all colors of the rainbow. The effect is amazing. It’s like special effects for your nails!
You can check out this animation I made to see the rainbow sparkle in action (my camera refused to focus because the holo jumps around so much!):

The formula for this nail polish is really easy to work with, and it’s packed with glitter. I only needed two coats for full coverage! However, you’ll want to note that it dries really rough. You’ll probably need at least 2 coats of top coat if you’d like a smooth, glossy finish. In this case, I don’t really mind; the holo effect is just that stunning!
I’m not even going to suggest you pick this up. Instead, I’d like to ask why it’s not in your stash yet!! Treat yo’ self! (Can anyone tell I’ve been using the first part of my winter break to watch Parks and Recreation?)
